The Spice Girl, who stars alongside Simon on the America's Got Talent judging panel, joined a long list of his A-list pals who were there to see him receive his star for services to the TV industry.
But the 43-year-old was almost in danger of stealing the limelight from her boss after her appearance caused a major stir on social media.
Mel shared a clip with her 1.2 million Instagram followers of herself at the event as she sat alongside her AGT co-judges, comedian Howie Mandel and supermodel Heidi Klum.
But the upload received a mixed response from her fans, with one writing: "Too much botox you were stunning before. Don't get caught up in that mess."
A second said she thought it was rapper Lil Kim, who has had extensive plastic surgery over the years.
"Doesn't look like Mel. I thought it was Lil Kim first of all! I love Mel's face but way too much work on the face."
Another said: "Your face Mel! You look very different."
Someone watching AGT on TV the previous evening, wrote on Twitter : "Mel B has so much botox in her face on AGT tonight she can literally barely open one of her eyes. Vanity sure is ugly."
