Queen seen riding horse in Windsor Castle at 93 the day after tears for war dead

The Queen went on a quiet horse ride yesterday after shedding a tear for the war dead on Remembrance Sunday.

The monarch, 93, was pictured riding her black horse through the serene autumnal grounds of Windsor Castle.

She trotted through the fallen leaves alongside her head groom Terry Pendry - and appeared to be in a sombre mood.

The head of state wiped away a tear during the two minute silence for the war dead at 11am on Sunday.

She wore riding gloves, a white scarf, a blue coat and black sunglasses on her ride yesterday.

The Queen is known to be a passionate equestrian and has won 534 of the 3,205 races her horses have taken part in.

She joined senior royals and politicians to honour the war dead on Remembrance Sunday.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Labour's Jeremy Corbyn attended the service at the Cenotaph memorial on Whitehall in London, as well as Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle .

Thousands joined cabinet ministers, religious leaders and representatives of Commonwealth nations, as well as hundreds of armed forces personnel to pay their respects.
