Photos: Fela Statue pulled down by Lagos state Government

A statue of Afrobeat legend Fela Kuti at Allen Avenue in Ikeja, has been pulled down by today's Government. This is coming two years after former Lagos Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode commissioned the monument.

Gboyega Akosile, the spokesperson for Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has however given a reason for the pulling down of the statue. According to him, the roundabout where the statue is situated made the list of four roundabouts identified as major cause of traffic in Lagos.

Other roundabouts that were identified for destruction are Lekki-Epe expressway, Maryland and Ikotun.

Akosile however assured newsmen that the statue will be re positioned at another place where it wil be saved. Check out before and after photos of the statue at the said location...
