Melanie Martin has allegedly been taken to police headquarters after she is said to have had a physical fight with the singer and he ended up with a scratched arm.
TMZ has claimed that the couple had a fight in their Lancaster, California home, when police arrived at the house.
The site has reported that Martin is in custody with a $50,000 bail.
It has been claimed that the LA County Sheriff's Department was called to 32-year-old Carter's home at 11pm on Sunday evening.
The singer reportedly had scratches on his arm from the alleged scuffle and the reason given for the police response was noted as 'domestic violence.'
Source told the site that the altercation had started as a 'verbal argument' before it turned physical.
The pair have been inseparable since self-isolating together during the coronavirus pandemic and they have presented a united front on social media.
It would seem that the peace and harmony was broken and Carter has presented photographs of the scratch marks on his arms.
