Kannywood actress, Rahama Sadau has on Tuesday, November 10 debunked reports saying she has been arrested and sentenced to jail.
The actress said this in reaction to circulating reports that she has being charged before a Sharia Court over the ‘blasphemous comments’ her now-deleted photos sparked on social media.
Sadau shared some photos of herself on her social media page and in the photos, she donned a gold dress that revealed her back, curves and her hair was also not covered, contrary to Islamic laws.
Though some fans complimented her, others, mostly Muslims heavily criticized her for dressing indecently and provocative.
This however turned in a religious clash between Muslims and other religious, sparking offensive comments.
While reacting to the backlash, the actress who is currently under suspension by the northern movie industry over the issue, stated that she was not a party to the tweets that were perceived as blasphemous.
Describing reports of her arrest and arraignment as fake news in a series of tweets via her Twitter page, Rahama Sadau advised people to desist from creating unrest out of it.
She expressed;
I have received many messages that I have been arrested and sentenced to jail earlier today. I have no idea where the news emanated from. I’m therefore calling on people to stop spreading FAKE and unfounded stories.

I haven’t received any police invitation or court trial. I’m reiterating this to well wishers that I’m SAFE and FINE and I have never received any legal trial for whatever reason. To those trying to bank on this issue to create an unrest, Please give it a rest..!!!
