Niger State Governor, Abubakar Bello has announced that he has tested positive for the coronavirus.
The governor disclosed this on Monday via his Twitter handle on Monday, November 9, saying that he is not exhibiting any symptoms and has gone into isolation.

He tweeted;
I have tested positive to #COVID19. However, I am asymptomatic and have gone into isolation.

Abubakar Sani Bello is now the 8th Governor in Nigeria that has tested positive for the novel virus.

Governors that have tested positive for coronavirus in time past in Nigeria include;
Nasir el-Rufai (Kaduna), Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Rotimi Akeredolu (Ondo), Ifeanyi Okowa (Delta), David Umahi (Ebonyi) and Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti).
Niger state, as at Sunday, November 8, recorded 281 coronavirus cases, 259 recoveries and 10 deaths.
