Shaka Momoh, Planet One CEO, Dies From COVID-19

Shaka Momoh, the owner of Planet One hotel and event centre in Maryland, Lagos State, has reportedly passed away from coronavirus complications.

Momoh was said to have died of COVID-19 at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) on Thursday.

Segun Awosanya, a legal practitioner and activist, who announced the tragic news via his Twitter handle on Thursday, saying;

Lost another gem to Covid19. The last time we spoke it was about our intervention on his case with a financial institution. Now he is no more. Rest in peace, distinguished Shaka Momoh (Planet One). Covid is real.

Gboyega Akosile, Chief Press Secretary to Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, also confirmed the news in a tweet.

Momoh, who is renowned as a lifestyle entrepreneur in Lagos, was a graduate of business administration from Auchi polytechnic. He was also a philanthropist who dispensed his goodwill through his Baobab Foundation.

Among his other businesses are Hospitality Warehouse, a hospitality products wholesale company; Baobab Edge Limited, a lifestyle company; and Basic Information and Communications System Limited (BICS), among others.
