A military aircraft King Air 350 has crashed close to Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport in Abuja on Sunday afternoon, February 21 after reporting engine failure enroute Minna, Niger state.
According to a video of the incident shared on Twitter, many people could be seen gathered around with a crashed plane in flames with firemen attempting to put out the fire.
Hadi Sirika, minister of aviation also confirmed the incident in a tweet, saying;
A military aircraft King Air 350 has just crashed short of our Abuja runway after reporting engine failure enroute Minna. It appears to be fatal. We should remain calm & wait for the outcome of investigation by the military, while we pray for the departed soul/souls if any.
