Yoruba Activist, Sunday Igboho Storms Ogun, Vows To Flush Out Killer HerdsmenSelf-acclaimed freedom fighter, Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho, has on Tuesday, accused the Federal Government of freezing his bank accounts, following his attack on killer-herdsmen in Oyo State.

Igboho, in an interview with Vanguard, confirmed that all his bank accounts have been frozen by CBN because some people were beginning to donate to the cause of expelling killer herdsmen from South-West states.

However, Igboho stated that he had no hands in the said donations, warning that his accounts must be unfrozen to avoid nationwide protest by youths across the South-West region.

He expressed;

They have frozen my bank accounts because I am fighting a just course. I know Yoruba people are behind me. I will not relent. I must achieve my aims by putting an end to criminalities in Yorubaland.

If they refuse to release my accounts, there will be serious protests across the South-West. Yes, the Yoruba are living in fear. They are afraid that the killer-herdsmen might attack them.

It would be recalled that following a virtual townhall meeting with Yoruba in diaspora on February 3, a donation account (GoFundMe) was set up.

The fund being donated is aimed at buying vehicles and major equipment for Igboho and his supporters in actualising his dream to provide necessary security for the Southwest states and ejecting ‘killer herdsmen‘.

The fundraiser, Maureen Badejo, a blogger and activist based in the United Kingdom, said the GoFundMe page was meant to help raise £100,000 (N51.8m) and in less than 24 hours, the sum of £9,320 (N4.8m) was donated.

It was during the townhall meeting that the youth leader slammed Yoruba traditional leaders for not speaking up about the security challenges Yorubas face in the country.

He said Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, disappointed Yoruba people when he visited Muhammadu Buhari over the herdsmen crisis rocking the South-West region.

He accused the Ooni of failing to tell President Buhari the truth about the plight of Yorubas during a meeting in Abuja.

The Yoruba activist threatened to deal with the monarch and Yoruba leaders for not speaking up against herdsmen crisis in the region.

Igboho described the Ooni, APC National leader Bola Tinubu, Governor of Oyo state, Seyi Makindeand other Yoruba elders as “Fulani slaves”.

He however apologised to the monarch after he was criticised for being disrespectful to Yoruba traditional leaders.
