Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has on Monday, March 15 congratulated music stars, Burna Boy and Wizkid over their Grammy Award victories.
The superstars made history on Sunday night during Grammys by winning their first-ever awards, much to the anticipation of many Nigerians.

Burna Boy broke record by becoming the first Nigerian-based artiste to independently win a Grammy and under the category “Best Global Music Album” for his 2020 album ‘Twice as Tall’.
While, Wizkid jointly won the award for his collaborative role on Beyoncé’s ‘Black Skin Girl’2020 video.

In a statement issued in Lagos state on Monday, the Minister described the much-deserved awards as fitting rewards for the persistent hard work of the duo.
He added that the awards represented a global endorsement for Afrobeat genre of music that has propelled Nigeria’s increasing dominance of the music world.
Many prominent Nigerians, celebrities and influencers have also taken to social media to congratulate the duo for the historic achievement, saying they are epitomes of the talent that abounds in the country.
