Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has on Wednesday issued a statement on warning Nigerians to beware of online fraudsters.
In a short video, NCC listed four things to do to avoid being a victim of online scammers, which includes;
– Do not input your Bank Verification Number (BVN) into any website whose source you cannot verify. A hacker may be waiting on the other side to steal your information.
– Don’t give your phone to strangers for any reason. They could easily steal sensitive information from your device.
– Lock your SIM card with a pin. A locked SIM card cannot be used by anyone else even if it is stolen.
– Don’t be ignorant. Be more informed about your Data Security and Online Security.
