Emir of Gaya, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdulkadir, has reportedly passed away on Wednesday morning after a brief illness.
A family source told ThePunch said the late Monarch has been ill for quite some time, saying, “We woke up to hear the shocking news of his passing away.”
Late Emir Abdulkadir who died in his 90s was first appointed in 1990 as the District Head of Kunci and Minjibir and in May 2019, was elevated to the rank of Emir of Gaya.
Gaya emirate is one of the four new created emirates established by the governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje.
