Lagos State Government has described as false the allegation made by the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) that it placed a ban on the operations of passenger vehicles from northern states.
The RTEAN had in a statement issued by its General Secretary, Mr Yusuf Adeniyi, in Abuja said it received information that the state government had stopped the operation of passenger vehicles from the North and called for a reversal of the decision.

However, the state Chairman of the Lagos State Parks and Garages Administrators, Sulaimon Raji, during a press briefing held in Lagos on Monday, described the claim as “obnoxious and abhorrent” propaganda.
Raji explained:
Lagos State is a centre of excellence and the fifth-largest economy in Africa, and as such, its all-around ethnic accommodation of all regions in its abode is unparalleled. It is not only obnoxious, abhorrent, and appalling to have ascribed such disdainful propaganda with zero proof to the LSPGA.
It is noteworthy to state that we as administrators under the auspices of the Lagos State Government detest and despise any act or show of ethnocentrism in our dealings as we believe that for any organisation or association to thrive, it depends solely on its oneness.
We vehemently call on the RTEAN leadership to desist from its continuous display of colossal show of shame over a matter that is already in the court of law and allow the judiciary to take its course.
Also speaking at the event, the LSPGA Chairman in Alaba Rago, Abdul-Bala Kusala, stated that the administrators reject ethnic discrimination and any stereotype of radicalism which used to cause divisions among its union members.
