President Muhammadu Buhari has on Saturday morning, March 6 received his first dose of Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.
He received the vaccine at the new Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja, the nation’s capital, a day after Federal Government launched the vaccination exercise in the country.
Shortly after, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has received his own first dose of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.
On Friday, Nigeria commenced its COVID-19 vaccination with frontline health workers in Abuja.
The first shot of the vaccine was given to Cyprian Ngong, a medical doctor at the National Hospital, Abuja.
Faisal Shuaib, chief executive officer of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), administered the dosage.
