Nigerian celebrities have taken to their various social media platforms to condemn the gruesome murder of worshippers in a Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State.
On Sunday, Moji Delano Blog reported that no fewer than 40 people individuals were massacred at St Francis Catholic Church, Owa-luwa Street, Ondo State on Sunday, June 5.
Ondo state governor, Rotimi Akeredolu has since released a statement to condemn the heinous activity and have vowed that justice would be served. The state governor was also at the scene, describing the attack as “the most tragic event in the state.”
The attack has provoked reactions from socialites and elites in the country, including popular celebrities. Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Erica Nlewedim published a lengthy thread on Twitter to condemn the villainous act.
In her post, she questioned why the government have failed to track down terrorists and other perpetrators in the country.
She wrote:
They can definitely do something other than just announce how they’re “saddened” by the news of the killers. They did the below
very easily so why can’t they find the ondo church killers or the kaduna/Abuja kidnappers? Or the other massacres?

Killings upon killings in Nigeria!! It’s happening simultaneously in the South, West, East and North… how many of these criminals have been apprehended? What exactly is the government doing to secure the lives of Nigerians apart from offering condolences every damn time!!!

My heart goes out to the relatives and friends of victims of the gruesome killings in Owo, Ondo state today. This is a crime against humanity which shouldn't be tolerated in any civil society. To paraphrase Senator Adeyeye's words in the red chamber a few years ago:
